As a retailer, you might wonder: should I stock Assam Tea or Darjeeling Tea? The answer depends entirely on how your customers drink their tea.

The Milk Test

This is the easiest way to decide.

  • Assam Tea: Bold, Malty, Strong. It is designed to be drunk with Milk and Sugar. It cuts through the milk to give a rich color. This is the "Chai" of India.
  • Darjeeling Tea: Delicate, Floral, Astringent. It is usually drunk Black (without milk) or with lemon. Adding milk often ruins the flavor.

The Customer Profile

  • Stock Assam (CTC) If: Your customers are general households, tea stalls, offices, or cafes serving Masala Chai.
  • Stock Darjeeling (Orthodox) If: You cater to health-conscious people, gift buyers, or premium cafes serving "English Breakfast" style tea.

At Manish Tea Traders, we supply both. Our Assam Granules are a bestseller for the milk-tea segment, while our Darjeeling Orthodox caters to the premium niche.
